Heavy rainfall in Hanoi turned many streets into rivers
Floods in Vietnam have killed at least 24 people, including several in the capital, Hanoi, which has suffered its heaviest rains for two decades.
The worst-hit area was the central province of Nghe An, where 11 died.
Residents have told of wading through streets turned into rivers, with water up to their chests.
Several people died during heavy rain last month and, in September, floods triggered by Typhoon Hagupit killed at least 25 people in the country's north.
Some 350mm (13 inches) of rain fell in Hanoi on Friday, according to the country's national weather forecast centre.
Floods are a common occurrence in Vietnam, killing hundreds each year.
